General
This privacy policy explains the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data when you visit this website. The site is a non-commercial portfolio; data is processed only to the technically necessary extent described below.
Hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When the site is accessed, Vercel automatically processes technical connection data in order to deliver the pages and to ensure the security and stability of operations. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and efficient operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with Vercel. Data is transferred to the USA; Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Server log files
On each access, technical information automatically transmitted by your browser is stored in server log files: the processed IP address, date and time of access, the requested page, the referring link (referrer), and details about your browser and operating system. This data is used solely for technical operation and security and is not merged with other data sources.
Cookies and local storage
This website uses no tracking or marketing cookies. Only technically necessary mechanisms are used: a session cookie “NEXT_LOCALE” that stores your selected language, and an entry in your browser's session storage (“nav:count”) that supports in-page navigation. Neither contains profiling data, both are used purely locally, and both are required for the functions you request. Under Section 25(2) TDDDG, no consent is required for these.
Reach measurement (web analytics)
This website uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, services provided by Vercel Inc. (provider and address as stated in the “Hosting” section), for anonymized reach measurement and for collecting technical performance data (e.g. loading times). Both services are cookieless and neither store nor read information on or from your device; no cross-device profiles are created. Only aggregated usage data is collected, such as the pages visited, the referring website, the approximate region of origin (derived from a truncated or hashed IP address, without storing the IP address permanently), and the browser and device type. This data is used solely for statistical analysis and to improve the content and performance of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a needs-based and technically sound service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent under Section 25 TDDDG is required.
Getting in touch
This website uses no contact form. Contact is made via an email link that opens the email program on your device; the message is sent from your own email account. If you send us an email, we process the information it contains in order to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Our mailbox is provided by Migadu-Mail GmbH (Rohnen 587, CH-9414 Schachen, Switzerland); according to the provider, the email data is stored on servers in France (EU). In addition, an adequacy decision of the European Commission applies to Switzerland, the provider's home country. Your enquiries are deleted once they have been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Fonts
The fonts used (Inter and JetBrains Mono) are served locally from this server. No connection to Google's servers or any other third party is made when the page loads, and no data is transmitted to third parties for this purpose.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object at any time to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). An informal message to the contact address above is sufficient to exercise these rights.
Right to lodge a complaint
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
Changes to this privacy policy
We update this privacy policy whenever changes to the website or to the services used make this necessary. The current version published here always applies.
